Leadership

Members are strongly encouraged to lead through music as a Tri-M member, and one of the best ways to accomplish that is by serving on our officer team or on a committee. Learn more about what it takes to become an officer and meet our 2022-2023 Officer Team below.

Officer Requirements

General Requirements to Apply

  • Meet all requirements for basic membership

  • Have no suspensions or office referrals

  • Complete the Officer Application Form or President and VP form (found below)

  • Members who did not complete their service hours the previous year are not eligible for officer positions

  • Be a rising junior or senior 

  • Submit 1 application

  • 2024-2025 Officer Application is due by April 18th, 2024. 

Officer Positions

Vice President

  • Publicizes meetings and chapter activities

  • Helps organize the induction ceremony

  • Secondary representative of the Chapter, on and off campus

  • Assist the chapter president with their duties

Treasurer

  • Maintains membership records

  • Prepares a chapter roster

  • Handles financial responsibilities

Historian

  • Keeps record of chapter activities

  • Educates new members on the history of Tri-M

  • Aids President in carrying out other responsibilities when Vice President is unavailable

Secretary

  • Records the chapter minutes

  • Handles correspondence for the chapter, including thank you letters and interactions with other Tri-M chapters

  • Reports chapter activities for the Chapter Summary Report

Website Designer

  • Update chapter website with accurate information

  • Maintain function within chapter’s website

Media Representative

  • Take pictures of Tri-M volunteer activities

  • Spread awareness of the chapter and encourage membership

  • Maintain the chapter’s social media pages

Commitees

Committees are small groups of members dedicated to the organization and planning of specified service events. Members can choose a committee based on areas they are passionate about and work throughout the semester to improve service activities in that area. Committees are a way for Tri-M members to step into a higher leadership role by helping plan our service events and giving valuable input and ideas
